My mother is in stage 4 kidney failure. She has excess levels of potassium and phosphorus. She follows a extremely strict diet but the kidneys aren’t filtering out what they need to. She is now having issues with high blood pressure and put on blood pressure meds, which is in torn causing more problems with the nutrients. Seems like there is no good solution on what to do in this case . What are your thoughts ?

With kidney disease, the kidneys often ramp the blood pressure up regardless of what you do. If I had kidney disease and really high blood pressure, I would definitely take medications to control it. I'm sorry to hear she's got this problem. You're right, there's not really a good solution.

I appreciate this response greatly. Have you ever worked with someone with kidney disease before ? I don’t trust her kidney doctor or any doctors at all ( except for you of course :) ) I would love to book a consultation for my mother but don’t know if this is something that you could try to help

Her with naturally or if it’s just a death sentence because kidney failure is kidney failure… I’m just very lost and don’t know where to turn.

I've had lots of patients with kidney issues over the years. We're very limited in what we can do once it gets as bad as stage 4. But if you'd like to speak to one of my staff, you can contact us via my website, stillmanmd.com.
