A great source for information on specific patterns of dishes and other kitchen items is found on the “lead safe mama” website.

Not long ago our family became aware of potential lead poisoning through use of dishes and kitchenware. It was a source I had not considered before.

Just curious. (I think I know the answer) If someone gets their hair colored, the HTMA results will be skewed, right? They would either have to stop the coloring treatments until the hair grows out, or not get the test done. Or, can HTMA be done with other body hair? I think for most people different body areas have different hair density and color profiles.

Just to be on the safe side, also disclose brand of hair dye and when it was last applied on the hair, even when one inch of virgin hair growth (or more) has come in. TEI's forms ask for the brand of shampoo and conditioner used. I hope what I typed is helpful.

HTMA can be done with public hair. It would have to be marked as public hair on TEI's (Trace Minerals Incorporated) intake form. The lab takes in to account that calcium and phosphorus levels (amd ratios) from pubic hair samples are different than samples from the occiptal lobe of the head. The general recommendation for colored head hair is to not treat the hair for enough time so at least 1 inch of root hairs are uncolored. The growth length for scalp hair as opposed to public hair varies, too. I hope this helps.
