Metals, Minerals, and Autoimmunity
A case-study from my practice
Emily came to use three years ago struggling with severe fatigue. She was crippled by myasthenia gravis, an autoimmune disorder, and one of her most difficult symptoms was fatigue. She was also trying to get pregnant, and was concerned about how long it was taking.
Are you tired? Struggling with brain fog, fatigue, or weight gain? Concerned you might be dealing with an autoimmune condition? Or have you been diagnosed with an autoimmune condition, and are looking for answers?
Check out my Autoimmunity Recovery Framework:
After ten years of practice and twenty years of studying integrative medicine, I've concluded that the single thing that will make or break your metabolism, your energy levels, and your cognitive function is minerals.
Why am I so focused on minerals?
I started testing hair mineral levels over two years ago, and I haven't looked back. We started to see new patterns in the hair that we didn't see in the blood. We were able to use higher doses of minerals in patients safely, to get better and better results.
Emily was one of the first patients whose hair I tested for minerals. Her first test was fairly unremarkable, to the untrained eye. Several minerals were low and she had no significant elevations in her heavy metals.
But her results were far from unremarkable. Over a period of eighteen months, she went from infertile, fatigued, and in-and-out of the hospital with myasthenia gravis to symptom-free, full of energy, and pregnant.
What made this transformation possible?
Her second test showed a 40-fold increase in aluminum, a three-fold increase in mercury, and a five-fold increase in copper. This means that her body was mobilizing and eliminating these metals from her cells, where they had been trapped. Emily gave birth to her first child this past fourth of July.
I've seen the right minerals banish fatigue, brain fog, unwanted pounds, and more all within a matter of weeks.
Why are minerals essential for healing?
Minerals are the, "spark plugs of life," according to Henry Schroeder, MD/PhD, one of the great pioneers of mineral biology. When your body does work, such as transforming a glucose molecule into smaller molecules to create energy, it does it with enzymes. Most enzymes require minerals to do their jobs. Imagine that the enzyme is like a power-tool, and the mineral is like the drill-bit or saw-blade. The power-tool is worthless without the mineral.
Alzheimer's disease, autism, allergies, autoimmunity, cardiovascular disease, and more have all been linked to mineral deficiencies, and, moreover, heavy metal toxicity. Heavy metals, like aluminum, arsenic, mercury, lead, and cadmium all compete with minerals for the active sites in enzymes. They prevent enzymes from working, while eroding the machinery of your cell by producing harmful free radicals.
This is why hair tissue mineral analysis has become our standard for measuring minerals in the body. Most practitioners do not understand hair tissue mineral analysis, which is why you may never have heard of it, or may have heard that it isn't that useful.
Far from it. Once you understand how to actually interpret the levels of minerals and metals you see in the hair, you can develop a comprehensive treatment plan for optimizing levels of all the minerals in the body, and for maximizing excretion of toxic heavy metals from the body.
This is why we offer hair tissue mineral analysis at my medical practice as often as quarterly to our patients. We rely on this test to guide our supplement recommendations, with profound results for our patients.
Emily is just one example of how mineral analysis is changing lives. We test hair minerals in every patient, in part because of cases like Emily’s.
If I had known about them at the time, I would certainly have recommended the X39 patches from LifeWave to Emily. The X39 patches up-regulate copper peptide, which is a powerful peptide for healing and rejuvenation. I recommend it to all of my patients, because of the powerful, transformational results I have seen it achieve.

Until next time, be well,
Dr. Stillman

Yes, I agree! I felt very good when on Dr. Stillman's suggested minerals (after HMA)
I have been laid low in bed for 3 weeks wondering why Ivermectin wasn't kicking in until I realised my zinc was probably low. Adding Magnesium improved things even more. So time for another HMA. The only thing is how to get the minerals into the body? After years of supplements my gastric mucosa was shredded. I myself have found a protocol to heal it but had to stop everything while doing so. it is still very very very sensitive. Too many suppliers say take on an empty stomach at night. Whoah!! do that for a few years and see what happens.
I must clarify that Dr. Stillman's recommendations were not the ones that caused the problems.
