A Moment with Dr. Stillman
She’s a midlife mom of two, juggling kids, their extracurriculars, marriage, and a full time job. She’s got a wonderful life, like most of our patients, and now she’s finally had time to focus on her own health.
For years she felt anxious, frazzled, and ungrounded. Many of our patients feel this way. Some of them are so used to it that they’re not even aware of it. She admired calm, composed people and never thought she could be one of them.
Now she says:
“I feel like I got the cheat code.”
“This is what life is supposed to be like.”
“I’m a ten [of ten].”
Here’s what we did differently.
Where She Started
When we first met, her life looked like this:
Lack of desire and low motivation for normal, everyday pleasures.
Bloating and distension so bad she had to massage her abdomen to get relief.
Allergies and under‑eye puffiness that needed ice rollers and self-massage every morning.
Emotional reactivity with her children, and interactions that easily became “acrimonious and dramatic.”
Lifelong intuitive disconnection: “My solar plexus has been a black void for my entire life.” I’m not really sure exactly what this means (there’s no ICD-10 code for this, believe it or not), but she felt it was important.
Her symptoms were labeled with diagnoses like, “irritable bowel syndrome” and “eczema.” Other signs and symptoms had never been named or labeled, but were still troubling her.
What We Did Differently
We followed our standard operating procedures for women who are tired, foggy, and inflamed. Here’s exactly what we did:
Eliminated foods that she reacted to on her food allergy testing.
Daily 10,000 IU vitamin D with K2.
Personalized mineral and supplement protocol. Her ferritin rose from the 7–9 range to 45, with no iron supplements.
Added bioidentical hormones to restore youthful levels.
Added digestive enzymes that reduced abdominal bloating and indigestion.
LifeWave patches to calm her system (Aeon).
After starting Aeon patches, she said, “I feel like I got the cheat code.”
Where She Is Now
On this visit, she walked in and said:
“I’m fantastic… I feel amazing.”
Here’s what that means in real life:
“My intuition, I’m like tapped in. I’m listening.”
“I’m drawn to an internal voice… I’m noticing the serendipity and acting on it without regret.”
In a recent tense moment with her teenage child, “I didn’t interfere, I didn’t interject. I didn’t talk, problem‑solve.”
Instead, she quietly put flowers in her daughter’s room. Her daughter later hugged her and said, “Thanks for the flowers. They’re so pretty.”
Allergies, skin issues, and digestion have all significantly improved, or even entirely resolved.
The right minerals, vitamins, and hormones can transform how you see yourself and how you treat others. This is why I’m so enthusiastic about what we do. They don’t determine who you are, but they have a profound and under-appreciated impact.
She shared more than this, but some of it was too personal for me to publish here. Let’s just say old wounds are healing in more ways than one.
My favorite part of our recent visit:
“My allergies are amazing.”
“This is what life is supposed to be like.”
“Heaven on earth.”
“I’m a ten.”
This is why my team and I are so enthusiastic about what we do.
Things to Think About
Minerals, vitamins, hormones, and light all have an impact on what we call intuition, our inner voice, and our overall mental state. Anxiety, depression, mood swings, lack of motivation, or just feeling “dead” inside - these aren’t purely psychological phenomena. There are physical factors at work.
With the right protocol, labs should move meaningfully within a matter of months. We see profound changes, but they are never due to “just one thing.” The diet, exercise, daily routine, supplements, and medications all work together.
There will be ups and downs. In this case, I didn’t share the “downs” with you. But they were there. We managed multiple detoxification reactions during these past months.
Good medicine should help you show up for your friends, family, colleagues, and society as the best version of you. Having a bad day or a tense moment doesn’t make you a bad person, and it’s worth asking if some of your mental chatter, stress, anxiety, anger, or irritability might change with the right course of treatment.
