How we dropped one patient's risk of heart disease by 50% in just six months
How's your heart health?
Are you sitting on a heart attack?
Like it or not, a lot of you are. And you don't even know it, because you're so disillusioned with the medical system that you won't go to the doctor. Or you got to the doctor and they don't check this one, simple test.
The high-sensitivity or cardiac C-reactive protein (hsCRP or cardiac CRP).
Why is this one of my favorite tests?
Because it's one of the best validated tools to assess someone's risk of chronic disease. C-reactive protein is made by the liver in response to inflammation. The more inflammation the body is struggling with, the more CRP the liver makes. High CRP's can go along with autoimmunity, allergies, trauma, cancer, and heart disease.
This test is our single best test to predict heart attack risk. This is why I check it in every patient and trend it until it is normal.
This winter, one of our new patients had a hsCRP above 10.
The low range is less than one (this is ideal). Moderate risk is 2 to 3. High risk is over 3.
Her risk was many times the highest risk bracket cut-off.
She's a wife and a mother. She thought she was "just going through menopause." Menopause doesn’t explain her elevated risk of heart attack.
I will be putting on a webinar July 10th on Hormones, Neurotransmitters, and Health. I'll touch on the major hormonal and neurotransmitter issues we see in menopause. You can register for the presentation here.
It's worth finding out if you're "just going through something" (like menopause) or if something more concerning is going on.
Six months later, her hsCRP has come down by 50%. She’s well on her way to being low risk for heart attack.
How did we do this?
Like many people who come to see us, she had already heard about the importance of time outside, disconnecting from technology, and more.
She told me that she saw a major difference with the dietary changes we recommended to her.
We also started a customized nutritional protocol based on her hair and blood testing.
What might have happened if she hadn't traveled to see us?
You're as young as you'll ever be. There will never be a better time to get your health on track.
Schedule a discovery call with us today. You must live in Florida or New York, or be willing to travel to see us in Naples, Florida for an annual visit.
If you've been thinking about scheduling an appointment with us, I encourage you to do so soon. We are a members-only practice and we anticipate reaching capacity this winter, possibly before the end of the year. Once we reach capacity, I am not sure when we will open our doors to new patients again.

Until next time, be well,
