A Moment with Dr. Stillman
He’s a mid‑40s dad of three young kids who travels as much as twenty days a month for work. He’s been working with us for over a year and has made tremendous progress, but he made significant progress with our most recent protocol.
Where He Started
A few months ago, before his most recent protocol, he was dealing with:
“Major fatigue” that made normal days feel hard
“Racing thoughts… some days seemed really hard”
Known mold exposure in the background
HRV “like 30 on a good day”
Resting heart rate in the “mid‑60s on a normal basis”
He had made significant progress in the year prior - energy, digestion, and cognitive function had all improved.
But he still had these lingering issues, despite an entire year of personalized supplementation and lifestyle changes.
What We Did Differently
Most people in his situation are told to go straight after mold, infections, or “detox.”
We didn’t do that. For an entire year we focused on mineral balancing and optimizing his diet and lifestyle.
We flipped the order many patients and practitioners operate with:
Started with hair tissue mineral analysis (HTMA) and comprehensive blood work
Did four rounds of mineral balancing based on HTMA
This quarter, we put mineral balancing on hold (he took our Vitality + multivitamin/multimineral to maintain his progress) and added a mold protocol with binders and anti-fungals
This is what he said about that order after six weeks on the mold protocol:
“If I did not mineral balance first, I’m not sure that I would have successfully completed the six weeks.”
Where He Is Now
Six weeks into this plan, he’s feeling better and he can see it in his heart rate.
How he described it:
“A lot better.”
“Everything… balance, clarity, resilience, weight you’re losing, feel like I should feel.”
What the numbers showed:
Resting heart rate dropped about 15 points, from the mid‑60s to the upper‑40s
HRV climbed from roughly 30 to a steady 60–65
Weight down 15 pounds total, with 8 pounds lost in the first two weeks
This is all while traveling up to twenty days a month.
For reference, getting people to lose weight when they travel is hard. You’re working against disrupted circadian rhythms, massive EMF exposure, and pollutants and toxins in hotel rooms, processed food on the road, and often poor air and water quality in major cities.
I’m always excited and encouraged when patients report significant improvement even when they’re traveling a lot for work or for recreation.
When I asked what gets the credit for these improvements, he said:
“I’d say the mineral is still probably 70% of all the benefit has come from it. I think this mold protocol has been the other 30.”
I think he’s downplaying the impact of sauna, meal-timing, proper diet while at home, the benefits of having a loving family (wife and kids), regular exercise, a healthy home, and a positive mindset, all of which are working for him.
His kids are doing great too. They are also on mineral balancing.
One of his kids, who has been growing slowly and having some issues with balance, language, and coordination, is now:
Walking, talking, and balancing better
Interacting more comfortably with people
He and his wife rated her improvement “at least a 4 or 5” out of 10 so far.
This is after only one quarter on mineral balancing.
This is why we often start working with mom or dad, and then wind up taking care of the whole family. There’s something heart-warming about taking care of entire families.
Things to Think About
If you see yourself in his story, here are a few things to think about:
Before you try killing, binding, or chelating toxins, make sure you’re nourishing your body in all the ways that you can. Nourishment doesn’t just mean food, it means a healthy environment. See chapters 3 and 4 of my book, now available for pre-order here.
Travel, work, and family life don’t have to be perfect for you to get better. He was on the road most of the month and still saw his HRV double.
He expressed a fear of going backwards when stopping his current protocol. Fear of going backwards is normal. The way through it is a clear plan. A defined duration of treatment, a time to reassess and re-test, and when what we’re doing is no longer working, trying new things.
For more on this, read my book, available for pre-order here.
